This incredibly diverse market finds commonality in the products used. The waxes, binders, refractories and specialty products offered by REMET empower artists and sculptors to create anything from simple, elegant designs to complex masterpieces. These products are designed specifically for artist and sculptors’ needs in mind. This ingenious group of people continues to expand their knowledge base, and they are now designing in digital formats and “printing” out their 3-dimensional works of art. To keep abreast of industry trends and needs, REMET eagerly participates in expositions and casting contests at universities on an annual basis.

Binders are a cornerstone of REMET’s existence. REMET works closely with its customers to help select the binder that will optimize their process. Factors such as adhesion to the wax pattern, slurry stability, required green, hot and fired strength, processing speed and an ability to operate under the foundry’s environmental conditions, whether tightly controlled or uncontrolled, are all considered to give our customers the best system to meet or exceed their needs. Available binders include families of Enhanced REMASOL® ADBOND® Binders as well as standard REMASOL® Colloidal Silica Binders.

Colloidal Silica

Available in both 8 and 14 millimicron particle size.

LUDOX®
This line of binders is available in all industry standard sizes to meet the investment caster’s needs. Freeze stabilized (FS) grades are available for distribution in Europe.

Enhanced Colloidal Silica

Binder systems are available either as two-component systems, to allow you to minimize cost and maximize formulation flexibility, or as pre-blended ready-to-use products.

REMASOL® ADBOND®
Designed to: improve primary coat adhesion and stability; improve back-up coat strength; provide faster processing; reduce coats; improve customer responsiveness; reduce work in process; increase profitability. Available for both primary and backup slurry applications.

ADBOND® ARTCAST (Not available in the U.S.)
ArtCast is a premixed binder made for artists casting light alloys such as brass, bronze and aluminum. It has excellent strength and stability and allows variation in shelling times without detriment to the shell properties.
