Mounted points, wheels, carbide burs and accessories are available from REMET. The materials range from aluminum oxide and ceramic grain to non-woven nylon and cotton fibers. When looking to polish or deburr a casting, REMET will help customers select the proper fit for very specific applications. REMET will factor in the alloy, grit, rate of cutting, shape of the point, length of the mandrel and casting geometry in developing a recommendation for each customer specific need.
Carbide burs are used for rapid stock removal on medium and hardened steels, stainless steels, titanium, inconel and many other ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Carbide burs are very common in metal working industries and come in a wide range of shapes and sizes. Ask your REMET representative for more detailed information.
Medium Stock Removal
There are many variables involved in selecting the proper mounted point. REMET will help you select the fit for your application by weighing the following: alloy, grit, cut rate, point shape, mandrel length and most importantly safety.
A very versatile, blunt shaped grain abrasive that handles both soft and hard applications well. It is able to withstand heavy use before wearing down or loading.
An abrasive that is hard and sharp with exceptional strength, and it breaks down fast to provide a constant fresh cutting surface.
This non-fused aluminum oxide is very tough and provides exceptional durability and cut rates. The advantages and costs need to be weighed against standard aluminum oxide.
Light Stock Removal
Specialty mounted points made out of alternative materials for polishing and light deburring.
These pressed non-woven tough abrasive nylon fibers are used primarily in finishing and some light deburring. They have long life and are typically non-loading.
Rubber bonded abrasive that provides light deburring and can be used on a wide variety of materials—from brass and copper to titanium and inconel and many other ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
A cotton fiber abrasive made from laminating non-woven cotton fibers with various grains and bonds and is good for light deburring. Works for both ferrous and non-ferrous, and is found to work extremely well with stainless steel. GRIER-TEX points run cool and smooth with no loading and are thus ideal for aluminum and other soft metals.
The many types of wheels and abrasives include: bench, pedestal, surface, valve seat, depressed center, reinforced, convolute and unitized. Material options include aluminum oxide, silicon carbide, GRIER-TEX, GRIER-BRITE and others.
Many different formulas and sizes available up to 36" diameter. Used for cutting off gates and risers in chop saws, portable tools, hand-held tools and table-top saws.
Collets are designed for repairing and maintaining grinders to proper safety requirements. Collets are available in 100, 200 and 300 series to match the various sizes and types of grinders. Front-end hardware for many common grinders are available at competitive prices, and REMET encourages routine maintenance and replacement of worn pieces to keep grinders running safely. Ask your REMET representative for more detailed information.
Some common and unique accessories for obtaining the best results from your abrasive products.
Copper or Stainless Steel flexible shaft with internal flexible cable allows you to reach around a corner and deburr or polish those hard to reach areas. Specialty threaded mounted points and wheels complement this fascinating tool.
A special 1/4" x 6" tapered spindle accepts specialty mounted points and wheels to reach confined spaces.
High Strength Mandrel
Specialty High Strength mandrels allow you to run at higher RPMs while at a longer length.
Used in large scale grinding operations. Ask for more details.
Available in aluminum oxide and silicon carbide for truing, shaping and dressing points and wheels. A necessary step to extend the life of your points and wheels.
