August 31, 2011 – Remet is pleased to announce they have reached an agreement with Alcoa Howmet to exclusively represent their Hot Isostatic Pressing (HIP) line of services. Based in Whitehall, MI Howmet offers HIP services to customers in the aerospace, medical, IGT and automotive industries among several other key markets. "The reach of Remet's worldwide sales force will open new markets for our HIP capabilities," said Greg Butzer. "The agreement allows us to focus on our strengths in advancing HIP production techniques and applications." With nearly 5,000 square feet of manufacturing space Alcoa Howmet has ten HIP units that range in capacity from 8 to 58 inches in diameter, and from 25 to 140 inches high. The units provide casting densification, powder consolidation, diffusion bonding and component repair.
