Products
To complement REMET’s key
products, a complete range of supplementary products including
mold releases, pattern washes, anti-foams, wetting agents, core
mixes & binders, and hot toppings are available. These products
are used throughout the investment casting process to improve a
multitude of performance characteristics.
A REMET representative is always available to show customers
how these specialty products can improve the PIC process.
Mold Releases
EPA compliant formulas contain no ozone depleting substances. They
are also non-flammable and do not contain any chlorinated solvents
for worker safety.
Non-Silicone
Easily removed from pattern, allows excellent primary slurry
adhesion, and the formula requires less spray per application.
Silicone
Silicone based for increased ease of part removal, prevents drag
marks on wax, and increased productivity with multiple releases
from a single application.
Water Soluble
Activates solubles for fast leaching time, easily removed from
pattern, and leaves excellent surface finish on patterns.

Pattern
Cleaners
Citriwash
Environmentally
safe, citrus based wax cleaner that can be used on all types of
filled and unfilled waxes and does an exceptional job on bisphenol
filled waxes. This 100% water soluble cleaner provides an excellent
etch and can be diluted to provide better economy.
Pattern Wash II
Safe, cost effective replacement, for fluorocarbon and chlorinated
solvent based pattern washes, that removes silicone from wax
surfaces,
while providing optimum etch. Easily rinsed with soap water
and environmentally
safe.
Pattern Wash 6 (European distribution only)
Specially formulated for pattern cleaning and has been approved
for use with REMET waxes. This economic pattern cleaner has a low
evaporation rate and is 100% water emulsifiable with no detergents
necessary.

Anti-Foams
REMET Foamaway
A silicone based antifoam that provides immediate defoaming action,
long-term foam prevention and good stability. Uniquely suited
for alkaline colloidal silica slurries.
Burst® RSD-10
Provides outstanding performance under many different conditions
and gives the most rapid break down of foam and release of
air
bubbles. Compatible with many wetting agents, it is compatible
with both alkaline and acidic binder systems.

Wetting Agents
REMET Wet-In
Provides good wetting of waxes, fast wetting-in of slurry refractories
and does not degrade slurry life. It also has good dispersing and
emulsifying properties and is stable in both acidic and basic pHs.
Aerosol
OT-75
An anionic surfactant that provides excellent wetting characteristics
at low levels of addition. Works well in conjunction with REMET
Foamaway.

Hot Toppings
EXO-F
Versatile hot topping with low density, superb flowability, good
expansion, low fume, good insulation properties, easy to use
and economy of application.
EXO-T
Designed for non-ferrous metals and has a strong insulating effect
that reduces heat loss from the metal. The advantages are better
feeding, reduced scrap and improved yield.
EXO-T Plus
This highly exothermic and moldable compound delays the
formation of solid skin, thus keeping the cup/riser open longer
to the beneficial feeding action of atmospheric pressure.
REMET
Top 3400
Designed for use in steel foundries to ignite quickly and continue
to exotherm for an extended period of time. Advantages: carbon
free, controlled burn rate to maximize metal feeding, minimum
smoke, no ammonia odor, low density, high purity and economical
to use.
