Ceramic Crucibles & Ramming Mixes

Crucibles, ladle liners and various special shapes are available from Remet in zirconia, alumina and fused silica. Remet facilitates the selection process for customers by comparing melting techniques, alloys being melted, size and type of furnace and thermal cycling effects. This assures the correct product is paired with the proper set of variables. Capacities ranging from 0.9 to 900 kg are available, as well as custom shapes and sizes.

To compliment our range of crucibles and ladle liners, we are also able to offer a number of forms of Ramming mixes.

  • Pak-Tite 90F Plastic

    A soft plastic phosphate-bonded alumina material designed for use in molding spouts and as a wet top cap in crucible applications. Its high purity makes it excellent for areas requiring resistance to slag and metal penetration.

  • Pak-Tite Magnesia Ram

    A high purity magnesite-based ram that is excellent as a back-up for crucibles melting high temperature alloys. It provides excellent resistance to basic slags and metals, which makes it ideal for the most severe chemical environments requiring highly basic refractories.

  • Pak-Tite Spinel Ram

    Maximum protection for induction furnace coils in the event of a crucible failure.

    Formulated with a blend of high quality minerals resulting in a high-alumina chemistry that forms as a Magnesia-Alumina-Spinel bond upon sintering.

    Compatible with most alloy, carbon and stainless steels which require neutral to slightly basic refractories.

  • Pak-Tite Silica Ram

    Engineered to ensure that crucibles and ladles are held tightly in compression on which is necessary to eliminate premature crack. Its high expansion coefficient and optimal grain size distribution provide for maximum density, minimal shifting, and easy packing of the material as it is installed between a crucible and a coil or between a ladle and its shell.
