Mounted Points and Wheels

Medium Stock Removal

There are many variables involved in selecting the proper mounted point. REMETƒ‚® will help you select the fit for your application by weighing the following: alloy, grit, cut rate, point shape, mandrel length and most importantly safety.

  • ALUMINUM OXIDE
A very versatile, blunt shaped grain abrasive that handles both soft and hard applications well. It is able to withstand heavy use before wearing down or loading.
  • SILICON CARBIDE
An abrasive that is hard and sharp with exceptional strength, and it breaks down fast to provide a constant fresh cutting surface.
  • CERAMIC GRAIN
This non-fused aluminum oxide is very tough and provides exceptional durability and cut rates. The advantages and costs need to be weighed against standard aluminum oxide.
  • Light Stock Removal
  • Specialty mounted points made out of alternative materials for polishing and light deburring.
  • GRIER-BRITE
These pressed non-woven tough abrasive nylon fibers are used primarily in finishing and some light deburring. They have long life and are typically non-loading.
  • RUB-BRITE
Rubber bonded abrasive that provides light deburring and can be used on a wide variety of materialsƒ€”from brass and copper to titanium and Inconel and many other ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
  • GRIER-TEX
A cotton fiber abrasive made from laminating non-woven cotton fibers with various grains and bonds and is good for light deburring. Works for both ferrous and non-ferrous, and is found to work extremely well with stainless steel. GRIER-TEX points run cool and smooth with no loading and are thus ideal for aluminum and other soft metals.
