Supporting the community

Porchlight

Porchlight is a charity that supports vulnerable and homeless people in Kent and across the South East. They help vulnerable and isolated people get support with their mental health, housing, education and employment. We provide children, young people and adults with the advice, guidance and skills to live independently in the future, play an active role in their local community and fulfil their potential.

AMAT

AMAT was established in 1997 with just one house and has grown to be the largest provider of supported accommodation in Medway.  We also accommodate homeless people in Maidstone.  We are a very experienced frontline service and we work closely with over 50 local statutory and voluntary agencies.

Homeless people and those at risk of homelessness are referred to AMAT and our community space The Hive, from multiple agencies such as Local Authorities, police and other voluntary organisations.

We have properties available to accommodate adult homeless individuals and couples, along with their pets.

This makes us a unique supported accommodation provider in the local area.

We manage a total of 109 properties, accommodating 300 homeless people every year, including families who stay in our Temporary Accommodation.
